CBI Busts Child Trafficking Ring in Delhi, Rescues Newborns
New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the investigation of a disturbing child trafficking case. Acting on a tip-off, CBI team conducted a raid late Friday night in Delhi’s Keshavpuram area. The raid proved successful, leading to the recovery of two newborn babies from a house.
Reports suggest the case involves the illegal procurement of infants. According to news agency ANI, the CBI widened its operation across several locations in Delhi. The rescued newborns were found in a single house located within the Keshavpuram neighborhood.
The CBI is currently interrogating all parties involved in this heinous crime. This includes the woman who allegedly sold the babies and the person who attempted to purchase them. So far, four individuals, including a woman, have been apprehended in connection with the case. These individuals are undergoing extensive questioning to unravel the entire operation.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the members of this child trafficking gang targeted newborns within hospitals. While official confirmation is awaited, sources suggest the CBI has successfully rescued a total of seven to eight children. The operation extended beyond Delhi, with arrests made in the National Capital Region (NCR) as well. Those detained include women, men, and a hospital ward boy, all suspected of involvement in the trafficking ring.
