New Delhi, 19 February: In a major crackdown on cow smuggling, the Rajasthan Police raided and busted several beef smuggling dens located in hilly areas of Alwar district. The operation was carried out in the Roop Gindawada area of Kishangarh Bas.

Jaipur Range IG Umesh Chandra Dutta and Khairthal-Tijara SP Surendra Singh Arya, who rushed to the scene, were left stunned by the sight of the cattle remains. The IG immediately suspended the entire staff of Kishangarh Bas police station, including SHO Dinesh Meena, for allegedly protecting the cow smuggling racket. It is believed that cows were being slaughtered in this area and home-delivered to nearby areas, including Nuh. The police have also registered a case of cow slaughter against 25 people. They have seized over 12 bikes used for home delivery and a pickup truck used to transport the cattle.

After that Jaipur Range IG Umesh Chandra Dutta, a police force conducted a search operation in the Alwar district, where they discovered evidence of cow slaughter. Beef remains were found in several locations. When the police team raided the village of Birsangpur, they found only women in the houses. All the men had fled the village. The police questioned a young boy and two elderly men about the incident. The police are currently investigating the matter and are trying to ascertain the extent of the cow smuggling racket. They are also searching for the men who fled the village.

Following the incident, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other organizations had demanded action against the police, leading to the suspension of the entire police station. The Jaipur IG has entrusted the investigation of the entire case to Kotputli Behror SP Namichand.
