Faridabad: In order to reduce the neonatal mortality rate in Faridabad district of Haryana, low-birth-weight newborns will be treated better by providing them with KMC (Kangaroo Mother Care) along with the mother. The start of this unit is expected to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates after childbirth. For this, the Maternity and Child Care Unit (MNCU) ward was inaugurated at FRU-1 located in Sector-30.

The Maternity and Child Care Center was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh. He appreciated the initiative and said that ward facilities have been provided in the Mother Newborn Care Unit (MNCU). Where low-birth-weight newborns will be treated better by providing them with KMC (Kangaroo technique). The start of this unit is expected to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates after childbirth.

A Community Empowerment Lab (CEL) has been built in the construction of the Maternity and Child Care Unit (MNCU) ward. The staff nurse has also been specially trained for the operation of the MNCU ward. In addition to FRU-1 in Sector-30, this unit has also been started in FRU-2 Ballabgarh, including Community Health Center Kheri Kalan, Community Health Center Tigaon, Community Health Center Kurali and Community Health Center Pali. So that both mother and child can get the best treatment amidst state-of-the-art facilities.

The data of all the children born in the unit will be kept on the tab. Along with this, the update of the children will also be taken after their discharge from the hospital so that full attention can be paid to the health of the coming generation. ADC Anand Sharma, Dr. Vinay Gupta Civil Surgeon, Dr. Rachna Mishra Civil Surgeon and their entire team including other medical officers and CSR representatives were present on the occasion.
