Congress MP Deepender Hooda Leads Padyatra in Badkhal, Criticizes BJP Government

Faridabad: Congress MP Deepender Hooda led a padyatra in the Badkhal assembly constituency as part of the Haryana Maange Hisab campaign, aiming to hold the BJP government accountable for its performance in the state. During the event, which saw a large turnout of Congress leaders and workers, Hooda strongly criticized the current government’s track record.

Addressing the crowd from the stage in Badkhal, Hooda accused the BJP government of failing to deliver on development promises. He pointed out that the constituency continues to struggle with issues such as inadequate electricity, water, sewerage problems, and poorly maintained roads, yet the government has taken no meaningful action to resolve them. He further claimed that under the BJP’s 10-year rule, even the development progress of Smart City Faridabad has declined significantly. Instead of progress, the people of Haryana have been burdened with rising unemployment, crime, and corruption. Hooda also alleged that Haryana now faces a worsening drug problem, surpassing even Punjab in this regard. Following his address, Hooda led Congress supporters on a foot march through the Badkhal assembly constituency, further emphasizing his message of accountability.

Hooda also highlighted the state’s achievements in sports, noting that Haryana consistently brings home the highest number of medals for the country. Despite this, he criticized the allocation of funds for sports promotion, stating that Haryana, which should have received a budget of Rs 2,200 crore, was only granted Rs 65 crore. In contrast, Gujarat was given Rs 500 crore for sports promotion, despite having only one participant in the Olympics, compared to Haryana’s 24 Olympians who contributed to India’s five medals. Hooda underscored the unfair treatment of Haryana’s athletes, citing the example of Olympian Manu Bhakar, who hails from Faridabad.

He also criticized the high taxation in Haryana, pointing out that the state is the highest taxed in the country but receives only 15 percent of its contributions back from the central government.
