Cargo Ship Crashes into Baltimore Bridge, Causing Catastrophic Collapse

Baltimore: A horrific accident unfolded in Baltimore, Maryland this morning when a cargo ship collided with a major bridge, causing its collapse. The incident has left several people dead and many missing.

At approximately 8:00 am, Baltimore Coast Guard Officer Matthew West reported the partial collapse of the bridge spanning Baltimore Harbor. The Baltimore Fire Department swiftly confirmed the collapse, prompting the Maryland Transportation Authority to shut down all traffic on the bridge.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. However, the focus now lies on rescue efforts. Coast Guard officials identified the ship as the Singapore-flagged cargo vessel “Dali,” measuring 948 feet in length. The Dali was reportedly en route from Baltimore to Colombo, Sri Lanka, when it collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
