Farmers Issue Ultimatum to Haryana Government, Deadline Set for August 15

The Haryana government and the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) have reached an agreement on some demands amid the ongoing farmers’ agitation and the anticipation of the Delhi march. Several other demands have also been met. Farmers have now given an ultimatum until August 15 to fulfill these demands. If the demands are not met within this period, the farmers will devise their next strategy. The final decision on the farmers’ demands will be made by CM Nayab Saini, who will also hold a meeting with the farmers.

On July 14, the SKM held a meeting in Rohtak and announced an agitation over the farmers’ demands. The government was then given an ultimatum to hold the meeting by July 20. A meeting in this regard was held on Saturday, starting at 12 PM and continuing until 6 PM. Notably, there was no discussion about the opening of the Shambhu border or the march to Delhi; the primary focus was on the demands of Haryana farmers. During the meeting, farmers and officials presented their arguments on various demands. Several issues, including pending electricity connections, loan waivers, and MSP, were discussed.
