Pune Police Investigate Audi Car Linked to Trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar

Pooja Khedkar, a trainee IAS officer, is currently making headlines. Recently, Pune Police visited her residence to inspect her Audi car under the Motor Vehicles Act. The car was used by Khedkar during her probation period.

Khedkar has been embroiled in controversy, raising questions about her selection process. During the civil services examination, she claimed to be mentally challenged and to have a vision problem, yet she was seen driving the car. This contradiction has sparked debate over her administrative service selection without proper investigation. Pune Police will now examine the Audi car driven by Khedkar.

She had filed an affidavit during the examination, stating her mental and eye issues, which granted her selection concessions despite low scores. Notably, Khedkar avoided medical examinations six times for various reasons but was still elected.

RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar highlighted that Khedkar’s father, Dilip Khedkar, a former civil servant, recently contested the Lok Sabha elections, declaring assets worth Rs 40 crore. Despite this, Pooja Khedkar claimed OBC non-creamy layer status, which has raised disputes considering her father’s wealth.

Accusations of Khedkar misusing her position have also surfaced. She allegedly demanded privileges not entitled to probation officers, used her personal Audi car with a red light, and requested an official car, accommodation, office room, and additional staff. Additionally, she reportedly occupied the Additional Collector’s chamber during his leave and placed her nameplate there. Following a letter from the Pune collector to the state chief secretary, Khedkar has been transferred from Pune to Washim.
