The party secured 400 seats, with leader Keir Starmer now set to become the new prime minister. After arriving at Buckingham Palace, King Charles III asked Starmer to take on the role, making his position official.

Now is the time for us to do our work.” Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak won the Richmond seat.
