Grand Ram Navami Celebrations Planned at Ayodhya’s New Temple

This year’s Ram Navami promises to be a truly momentous occasion. After centuries of waiting, the grand temple complex in Ayodhya, Lord Rama’s birthplace, will be the stage for this sacred festival. Devotees eagerly await this historic celebration.

Sun’s Rays to Grace the Idol

Marking a unique event, a special ceremony will take place at midday. For a brief but significant window of five minutes around 12:16 pm, the Suryavanshi (descendants of the Sun Dynasty) will perform a tilak ceremony on the idol of Lord Ram. To ensure this alignment, meticulous technical arrangements have been made to direct the sun’s rays directly onto the forehead of the idol, “Ram Lalla.” A team of scientists is dedicated to showcasing this extraordinary phenomenon in all its glory.

Extended Darshan for Devotees

To accommodate the surge of devotees expected on Ram Navami, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has made special arrangements. On April 17th only, the darshan (viewing) period for Lord Ram will be extended to a remarkable 19 hours. Devotees can begin lining up for darshan as early as 3:30 am. The temple will remain open continuously throughout the day, with shringar (adornment), offering of bhog (sacred food), and darshan happening simultaneously until 11:00 pm.

Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami Celebrations at Hanumangarhi

Special pujas and abhishekams (holy baths) will be held at temples across India on Hanuman Jayanti. At Hanumangarhi, a revered temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in Ayodhya, special poojas, darshan, and aarti (devotional offering of light) for Hanuman ji will begin at 2:30 pm on Ram Navami. While entry for visitors starts at 3:30 am, the temple will be closed briefly between 11:45 pm and 12:20 pm to facilitate the birth aarti of Lord Rama. Afternoon aarti for Ram Navami will be held from 3:00 pm to 3:20 pm, followed by a grand evening aarti from 10:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Entry for the evening aarti will be restricted, and the temple will close to the public at 11:30 pm.

This year’s Ram Navami promises to be a spectacle of devotion, technical marvel, and historical significance. With the opening of the grand temple in Ayodhya, this festival takes on a whole new meaning, offering devotees a unique opportunity to celebrate the birth of Lord Rama.
